“What the heck was it?” Relieved after realizing Kyle had saved our toilet.
Tired of being splashed with toilet water and after plunging our children’s backed up toilet to no avail, I finally succumbed to defeat and requested that Kyle return to our abode to save the floor and in doing so not have to utilize any more towels to sop up the ocean that was forming in our bathroom.
Sometimes life bee-bops along like a fairy frolicking through a meadow; other times life is like a garbage truck reversing over you, pulling forward to see what was hit, and then backing back up. (Bailey Murray I will not name names here, but you get it.)
In the past few months, everything that has needed replacing has been replaced, everything that could have leaked leaked, everything that was supposed to be hot was cold, things that were supposed to have on and off were constantly off. The reasons vary, but each predicament was quite annoying.
This house better be thankful it has a fire place and feels like home, because I was about to sell it and move into a tent where plumbing and electricity are uninvolved and don’t really matter.
Feeling quite disgusting, having not yet been able to thoroughly wash the toilet water off of me, I was driving down the highway to drop off a couple of children before dropping off a couple more a few hours later. Forty-eight hours of alone time to catch up on wet towel toilet water laundry and sanitizing floors sounds delightful. (Thank you grandparents!)
Kyle calls me after snaking the line and says, “Well, the problem is fixed.”
Eager to know what it was that was clogging the toilet I began guessing. A sock? A wad of paper towels? A coloring page.
Kyle delays my knowledge and says, “I’ll send you a picture.”
Me: “Dude, just tell me!”
Kyle: “Nope. A picture is coming.”
Five minutes of anticipation before I see the picture, know, and immediately want to un-know what had been in my toilet line (or whatever this is called).
Oh you want to know now too don’t you?
It was a freaking squirrel! A squirrel was in our line resulting in a clogged toilet.
‘Tis life.
Life is weird. Sometimes I wonder how Jesus would have handled today’s appliances and technology. How He would’ve handled dial up internet. Vending machines not working properly. Bad service. Not going to lie, I have in fact laid hands on my dishwasher before. It seems my faith my be too small when praying for appliances.
Here’s my encouragement to you today. Be aware the next time you sit down on the toilet. There’s no telling what’s lurking around down there. I’m guessing it’s not meadow frolicking fairies!
Freaking squirrel.
Bye friends! 🙂
